What I Have Designed

From consumer electronics to medical devices, from automotive interiors to household goods — my work spans the full arc of industrial design practice.

Each project begins with a deep curiosity about the person at the other end: how they live, what they value, what they need.

Products I've shaped have reached millions of hands. That responsibility is one I carry into every sketch, every prototype, every decision.

Why I Design

Design is how I make sense of the world. It is my language for problem-solving, for empathy, and for optimism about what the made world can become.

I design because I believe objects carry meaning beyond function — they communicate care, they signal respect for the person who will use them. Objects can solve problems, but also create them

Every well-resolved product is a small argument that thoughtfulness, function and beauty are not luxuries, but necessities.

My Process

I begin by learning more about the market, problem, opportunity or technology at the heart of each project — opening up possibility spaces before editing them down to what truly matters.

Research grounds every project. I conduct field observation, competitive analysis, and material exploration before a single concept sketch appears.

Prototyping is thinking made physical. I believe in making things early and often, even imperfectly, to accelerate learning and alignment across teams.

How I Think

I think in systems and in stories — constraints, and flows while also imagining the person who will pick up the thing I am making.

Good design problems rarely have clean answers; the skill is knowing when to decide and when to keep exploring. If a product makes you ask "why" without a strong reward, something went wrong.

I draw constantly — not to produce polished renderings, but to think. The sketch is the thought.

My Tools

Pencil and marker remain my primary thinking tools. Nothing moves faster or more cheaply when ideas need to flow.

For digital work, I move between Rhino, SolidWorks, and KeyShot — choosing the right tool for the right moment, from organic surfacing to engineering-ready geometry.

I am fluent in Adobe Creative Suite for communication design, and increasingly integrating generative AI tools as aids in early exploration phases.

How I Work

I am a collaborator by nature. Design does not happen in isolation — it happens in conversation with engineers, brand strategists, manufacturers, and above all, the people who will live with the result.

I advocate for design quality inside organizations. My role is not only to create, but to build the conditions where great work can be made and recognized.

I work with rigor and warmth — holding high standards while keeping the process genuinely enjoyable for everyone involved.

About

My 20+ years of experience shaping products across consumer, medical, and transportation sectors has given me a strong foundation for approaching a wide range of problems..

Born in Chicago, raised on the west coast, I bring a Mid West sensibility to design — optimistic, material-honest, and always in service of the human at the center.
